Sea Patrol - Season Two



Twenty-four sailors from every walk of life, of every age and temperament, living literally cheek-by-jowl for week after week, away from family and friends sometimes for months at a time. All crammed in an elderly 40 metre metal hulled boat - in seas of all conditions with temperatures often in the 30's. It's a pressure cooker that can bring out the best, and sometimes the worst, in all of them - man and woman alike. It calls upon reserves of devotion to duty, tolerance, obedience and of course humour, way beyond that which most people possess.

In the season one finale, the long serving HMAS Hammersley was decommissioned, but in keeping with the naval tradition the name transferred to a ewn Armidale Class patrol boat. The majority of the original crew return on board a new HMAS Hammersley, and there are a few new faces joining the team. The ‘Bright Island’ story line has been concluded so much of the action in season 2 takes place on and around the fictitious South Pacific island nation of ‘Samaru’, and story lines will cover Illegal fishing activity, drug smuggling and quarantine issues.

Episode 1:- The Dogs of War
The HMAS Hammersley is sent to rescue aid workers during a coup in the Pacific nation of the Samaru Islands. The interception of a foreign fishing vessel turns into a life threatening pursuit.

Episode 2:- Fortune Favours
A deadly eastern brown snake threatens lives, a curious medical emergency keeps the Hammersley crew on high alert, and one of the ship’s favorites is decorated for bravery.
