Ballykissangel - Series Two



Ballykissangel (also known as BallyK) is a series set in a small village in Ireland. The series starts with a new priest, Father Peter Clifford (Stephen Tompkinson), taking over the local priestly duties in BallyK. The locals are happy to have a new priest, but are suspious of this Englishman. The local pub is owned by Asumpta Fitzgerald (Dervla Kirwan), and the local constable, Ambrose Egan (Peter Hanly), is setting up a family with the daughter, Niamh Quigley (Tina Kellegher), of the local business leader of the community, Brian Quigley (Tony Doyle) (information for the first three seasons/series)

Episode: 1 - For One Night Only
It's the annual "slave auction" in BallyK and the villagers find themselves "owners" and "slaves." Assumpta, with her somewhat low opinion of the church, finds herself the "slave" of Father MacAnnally, while the "owner" of Father Clifford.
Meanwhile, a musician, Enda O'Sullivan, moves to BallyK. Reaction is mixed. He ends up cast as Assumpta's love interest in a play, but injuries himself. Father Clifford has to replace him. How will Father Clifford perform as someone's love interest? How can Father Clifford play someone's love interest?

Episode: 2 - River Dance
Niamh and Ambrose are trying to get pregnant, though Ambrose is becoming quite exhausted by the process.
New-comer Enda pans for gold in the river, and is spotted Liam and Donal. Liam and Donal decide to try to make some money off of the potential of gold in the river by setting up a tourist stop complete with tacky shrine.
Brendan, the school teacher, might find himself out of work. The school faces the threat of potential lay-offs due to the smaller than expected student population.

Episode: 3 - In the Can
Father Clifford tries to liven things up in Mass, Assumpta and Clifford go on a date, and the villagers are asked to take part in a film.
In an effort to boast the tourist trade in BallyK, Brian Quigley attempts to make a film of the area starring the locals.
Meanwhile, Niamh's pregnant and causing some trouble for her husband Ambrose. Unfortuantely for Ambrose, Niamh's the cook (won't let him) and she has some odd food cravings.

Episode: 4 - The Facts of Life
Father Clifford finds himself taking care of a baby after one is left on his doorstep. Ambrose injuries himself, so a temporary replacement arrives that is much more "aggressive" in attempting to enforce the law. Superintendent Foley is impressed by Garda McMullen and worried about Ambrose being the son-in-law of Brian Quigley and thinks about transferring Ambrose to a new post in another location in Ireland.

Episode: 5 - Someone to Watch over Me
The villagers try to comfort Niamh over the loss of her baby, while Ambrose mopes in the corner unseen. New students arrive at the school and immediately start to run rampant over the village. Brian gets a new housekeeper and he likes her at first but .

Episode: 6 - Only Skin Deep
The villiage holds a festival and it includes a beauty contest. The contest winner will become the new model for a bottled water company. Naomi, the "neice" of Eamonn arrives and entries the contest. Siobhan and Brendan end up in bed together.

Episode: 7 - Money, Money, Money
A fire destroys a villager's house in BallyK, and as the owner, Kathleen, lacked insurance, the villagers set up a collection to help her. Father Clifford tries to help but his funds are limited by the monetary demands made by his superior Father MacAnnally. The villagers bet on a dog race and then hold a poker tournament to try to race the money needed to rebuild the house.
