how do you download?

i've downloaded movies from pirate bay, i use bitlord for them to download through, i tried clicking download on a movie in the forum it said it was downloading but it didnt show where it was downloading to or what it was downloading thru, i tried clicking download again and it said it was already downloading but i have no idea where it is/was, i searched the title on my search on the computer and it wasnt there, what do i have to do to download the movie so i can see it on the computer what program do i need, im clueless, please help, also are the steps the same for all movies on the website?
step by step directions preferred.
