After dating for about two months, the superstar singer and the actor-rapper were married on April 30, 2008, in a secret ceremony in the Bahamas. They had actually met years before, but sparks didn’t fly until Carey, 38, selected Cannon, who turns 28 this year, to be her love interest in her music video for “Bye Bye.” Although the odds seem to be against them (there’s a 10-year age difference, this is Carey’s second marriage and there was reportedly no prenuptial agreement), these two lovebirds say their relationship is the real deal and that it will last. Cannon told People magazine why he and Carey have such a special connection: “We laugh at the same things … We are both eternally 12 years old.” Carey also told People that kids are definitely in the couple’s future: “It’s part of the whole purpose of getting married.”
